NWO KIC - Building on Digital Identity

Over the past years, iHub has been working on identity wallets (such as Yivi) and their applications (such as IRMA Vote). Identity wallets are on the brink of becoming more widespread due to the updated eIDAS regulation requiring their availability and use throughout Europe. This unlocks the possibility to create new applications where identity wallets provide a private and trustworthy alternative to current tools. Now, we’re working on developing more of those applications for identity wallets. Specifically, we’ll be developing a voting platform for small scale elections, a tool to sign documents digitally, and uses for identity verification in online communication such as video calls or social media. We’re approaching this from human centered design, legal and technical perspectives.

Several partners are involved in this project. Such as ProcoliX, Caesar, VerID, Anoigo, Electoral Board (Kiesraad), CHI Nederland and Privacy by design foundation.
