AI4ALL

Many organizations are adopting AI in the hope of increasing efficiency and simplifying organizational problems. But AI can also undermine public values which should be at the core of what public organizations do, such as transparency, privacy and fairness. The project AI4ALL explores how public organizations implement AI, how these come into tension with public values and how technology developers, employees and organizations can align AI with public values, thus increasing trust in institutions and improving the quality of work in the public sector. 

The project is led by Dr. A. Bonvanie of Saxion University of Applied Sciences (ethics and technology), and brings together researchers from the VU Amsterdam (Prof. G. de Graaf – public administration), Radboud University (Prof. T. Sharon – philosophy of technology) and various public organizations including municipalities, provinces, the tax office, the police and others.
