IRMA made easy

Authentication methods, like passwords, often involve a trade-off between usability and security. Secure passwords are a hassle to use, and easy-to-use passwords are often also easy to guess or to brute force. Clearly, there is a need for authentication methods that are both secure and user-friendly.

The IRMA mobile app, which provides secure and privacy-friendly authentication, can fill this gap. It was originally developed with a strong focus on the underlying technology. In contrast, this project focuses on the user interface and user experience. It includes user experience research and aims at improving IRMA’s user interface and usability in general, as well as accessibility (i.e., for disabled users) in particular. The goal is to make IRMA easy to use for users with the widest range of capabilities.
