Itsuko Yamaguchi will speak on “How to find effective remedies for global legal and ethical problems relating to AI and digital platforms: Toward a legal paradigm shift.”
In pursuit of global privacy protection, she argues for a legal paradigm shift and coins a new term: the ‘Tokyo
paradigm.’ This framework embraces rigorous remedial measures (such as judicial extraterritorial injunctions) to protect the human spirit and facilitate international collaboration.
She is Professor of Information Law and Policy, Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, Graduate
School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, the University of Tokyo, Japan.
